Oversees all Supervisors and Team Members on the plant floor in department (RAW). Plans, directs, and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary to accomplish production goals. Communicates expectations to Supervisors; plan monitoring, and appraising results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining.


The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

+ Manages Supervisors and Team Members

+ Oversees the production and warehousing processes operations. Reviews schedules and adjusts schedules as needed.

+ Ensure planned Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded.

+ Optimize resource utilization

+ Ensuring that the production is cost effective; Manage inventory and cost control.

+ Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs;

+ Working with subordinate leaders to implement the company's policies and goals;

+ Ensure complete compliance to prescribed Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) training, along with company pre-requisite programs, Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and SSOP's.

+ Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.

+ Raw Material Planning - ability to effectively plan, schedule and manage commodity based raw materials in accordance with company strategy.

+ Ensure proper staffing is maintained, including interviewing and hiring new team members.

+ Ensure that all team members are adequately and properly trained in safety, production, sanitation procedures, chemical handling and GMP's, etc. using proper resources.

+ Implement and monitor training for new hires and continuing training of current team members.

+ Reviewing the performance of subordinates; Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.

+ Maintain attendance records, counsel employees with poor attendance, and follow up with coaching/discipline as appropriate, in a timely manner

+ Appraise work performance: conduct appropriate reviews for team members; give coaching/discipline as appropriate in a consistent and timely manner.

+ Review, correct, and approve timekeeping tool to ensure team members are paid correctly each pay period.

+ Ability to build strong partnership with suppliers

+ Provides appropriate interpretation of company policies and safety procedures.

Job Requirements

o Bachelor's degree and/ or 3-5 years experience in production at same position

o Management experience

o Proven track record in managing production, preferably in the food industry

o Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget

o Ability to create and manage production budgets

o Planning and leadership skills

o Working knowledge of computers and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

o Must be able to stand for long periods of time

o Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment

o Must be able to repeatedly lift, push/pull over 50 lbs

o Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and grasp routinely throughout shift
